Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Hardware-Software Synergy, Go-to-Market (GTM) Strategy, & Brand Evolution
The S-Series represents the core of UltiMaker’s professional desktop offering. As the Creative Director and Marketing Lead, I managed the strategic transition from the legacy S5 platform to the next-generation S7, S6, and S8. This was a masterclass in product lifecycle management: we didn't just launch new hardware; we orchestrated a complete digital transformation.
By aligning the releases of the S7 (reliability-focused), the S8 (speed-focused), and the S6 (compact-performance) with major updates to Cura and the Digital Factory, we redefined what "professional-grade" means for the desktop.
Role & Contribution
Strategic Roadmap: I led the narrative transition from the S5 to the S7, positioning the S7 as the new "standard for reliability" with its integrated Air Manager and inductive leveling. I then pivoted the strategy for the S8 and S6 to focus on "Industrial Speed," highlighting the 4x productivity gains.
Launch Orchestration: Directed the global creative campaigns for all three printers. This included the "Success Story" visual series, high-production launch films, and a unified brand language that tied the hardware's physical design to the software's digital interface.
The Cheetah Motion Planner (S8 & S6): For the latest generation, I led the marketing effort for the UltiMaker Cheetah motion system. I translated complex engineering specs (500mm/s speed and 50,000mm/s² acceleration) into clear value propositions for manufacturing and design teams.
Software-Hardware Synergy: I ensured that every hardware launch was backed by a "Digital Factory" update. I led the creative vision for the updated cloud platform, emphasizing secure remote management and the new "Workspaces" for team collaboration.
