MakerBot CloudPrint was conceived as the "digital glue" that connects the physical 3D printer to the engineer's or educator's digital workflow. Originally an evolution of MakerBot Cloud, I led the project’s transformation into a comprehensive platform that solved the industry’s most persistent friction points: remote collaboration, fleet management, and complex print preparation. By the launch of CloudPrint 2.0, the platform had become an industrial-grade workspace management tool, allowing users to go from a multi-body CAD file to a physical part faster than ever before.

Role & Contribution

From Utility to Platform: I led the strategic shift to redefine the software from a simple remote-print tool to a robust "Digital Factory." UX/UI Design Leadership: As the creative lead, I defined the design system for the web-based application, ensuring it felt like a native extension of the METHOD and SKETCH hardware interfaces. I focused on "frictionless" workflows, such as the ability to slice and print directly from a browser without local software installation. Asset Creation & Storytelling: Directed all creative output for the launch, including high-fidelity video content, web design, and digital ads. I also hosted the "MakerBot Chats" series to personally introduce the platform’s capabilities to our global community of users. 2.0 Evolution: For the 2.0 launch, I worked with the Marketing and Product teams to emphasize "Speed and Security," highlighting the platform’s Azure-backed reliability and the new faster "CAD-to-Part" workflow.
